NWA Local Agency Membership

The purpose of NWA’s Local Agency Section is to:

  • Link Local Agencies in a national forum to advance the health of women, infants and children.
  • Assure the inclusion of Local Agency perspective in WIC issue discussions.
  • Provide grassroots support for global issues concerning the WIC program.
  • Provide Local Agency representation on NWA Committees and Task Forces.
  • Coordinate and communicate Local Agency issues.

The benefits of NWA membership for Local Agencies include:

  • A direct link with NWA’s Washington office with up-to-date information on legislation, funding and policy regarding the WIC program. Members receive the Association’s weekly newsletter, NWA Monday Morning Report , and have access to resources such as NWA’s WIC Local Agency Directory and a reduced cost.
  • Access to a network of other interested, knowledgeable and committed individuals/groups working in or for the WIC program.
  • The opportunity to work with a national organization as a member, state, regional or national representative, or member of NWA’s Board of Directors.
  • The opportunity to serve on NWA committees, working to influence and establish policies and positions on issues of great importance to their state WIC programs.
  • Reduced registration fees for NWA conferences, seminars, and workshops with a proven reputation for presenting top-of-the-line speakers, valuable sessions on nutrition and health-related issues and the latest trends in efficient and effective services provision.

Local Agency membership dues are based on the monthly average participation.
