This position provides highly complex consultative services and technical assistance work on clinical nutrition services to Texas WIC staff. Work involves program planning, development, and implementation of formula policies and procedures for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Functions as an expert content consultant on formulas and medical nutritional products. Develops and provides training to WIC staff and health professionals on a variety of topics from WIC policies and procedures to formula usage and clinical nutrition as related to WIC formulas. May assign and/or supervise the work of others as part of team functions. Work is performed under the supervision of a Manager IV in the Nutrition Education and Clinic Services Unit, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
