This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by advancing the health and well-being of California’s diverse people and communities. As an employee of the Federal Grant Management Section, the incumbent serves as part of a team that supports the budget and financial responsibilities of WIC to ensure a legally operable, fiscally sound, and financially credible statewide organization.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Chief, Federal Grant Reconciliation and Reporting Unit (FGRRU), Staff Services Manager I (SSM I). The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) maintains program accounting and fiscal information for the WIC program. The AGPA is an integral member of the FGRRU team and is required to function independently and effectively as a team member. The AGPA must establish and maintain professional relationships between WIC, CDPH Accounting Section, and various Control Agencies. The AGPA performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical tasks related to the development of cost projections for WIC grants, and provides expertise on fiscal concerns and financial compliance, implementation, and services for the Division. Uses a variety of analytical techniques to provide necessary projections for revenues, reimbursements, and expenditures. Utilizes problem exploration and various research methodologies to examine data, trends and services and provides consultative and administrative support on all phases of the fiscal process. Acts as a liaison and subject matter expert (SME) on a variety of areas, translating fiscal terms into everyday language, while communicating with other related programs for all areas related to estimates, invoices, expenditures, and other internal and external accounting fiscal reports.
This position is primarily a remote centered position (telework), with an occasional need to report to the office, in Natomas/Sacramento, based on business need.
