WIC plays a vital role in the promotion and support of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding peer counselors, IBCLCs, lactation consultants, and other lactation professionals help WIC elevate the capacity of breastfeeding to improve health outcomes of moms and babies.
To celebrate, World Breastfeeding Week, NWA has developed a breastfeeding graphic that can be made into posters for display in WIC clinics, doctors' offices, bookstores, churches, etc.
Joining NWA means you are investing in a community that provides quality nutrition services for over 7 million mothers and young children.
This week's WIC policy update highlights a report on the separation of migrant children, the status of the budget deal, the Census, and public charge.
In the face of declining WIC caseloads, WIC agencies and other stakeholders are in search of effective methods for keeping participants on the program longer. Research shows that “pain points” in the WIC shopping experience have contributed to WIC participants dropping out of the program or choosing not to participate in the first place. It is therefore imperative that we in the WIC community develop effective solutions to WIC shopping challenges.
This preconference summit will focus on developing practical constructive next steps to improve the WIC shopping experience by fostering a collaborative dialogue between members of the WIC and retail communities. WIC state and local agency staff, EBT vendors, manufacturers, and WIC-authorized vendor representatives are invited to participate. The summit will be professionally-facilitated and will include panels, facilitated breakout meetings, and workshops.
Your purchase of NWA products and publications supports the Association's efforts on behalf of WIC programs nationwide.
