Cricco-Lizza R. Infant-feeding beliefs and experiences of black women enrolled in WIC in the New York metropolitan area. Qual Health Res. Nov 2004;(14)9:1197-1210.

The purpose of this qualitative study was to better understand infant-feeding beliefs and experiences of black women in the WIC Program in New York City. Infant-feeding beliefs reflected life experiences of loss and stress, suggesting that more culturally competent education and care is needed for this population.
