National WIC Association

Celebrating 40 Years of Impact and Building What Comes Next

November 21, 2025

As the National WIC Association (NWA) closes its 40th anniversary year, we’re looking back at the amazing community that has supported four decades of WIC advocacy, education, and impact. From the families who rely on WIC as a crucial resource, to the staff, advocates, researchers, partners, and policymakers who make that support happen, everyone in the WIC community helps create a healthier nation.

This year also highlighted just how important WIC is. During uncertain times, like the recent shutdown, the dedication of WIC staff and the strength of families showed the need for strong advocacy, clear communication, and reliable funding. Through it all, you—our members, partners, and supporters—kept WIC visible, valued, and protected.

This season of thanks, we’re especially thankful for the generosity and involvement of the entire WIC community. Your support helps NWA’s mission: ensuring that moms, babies, and caregivers have access to healthy food, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and the trusted relationships that define WIC.

But our work doesn’t end here. As we think about the next 40 years, there are more ways than ever to be part of WIC’s story and support the program we all care about:

  • Make a year-end gift to boost NWA’s advocacy and protect WIC’s future, especially as families and staff continue navigating a changing landscape.

  • Share your gratitude on the WIC Appreciation Wall to honor the people who make WIC a lifeline: staff, families, peers, mentors, and community partners.

  • Shop the NWA Store to give with purpose; every purchase helps fund NWA’s mission and supports our advocacy, education, and innovation efforts.

As we move from one milestone and start the next, one thing is clear: WIC is strong because its community is strong.

Your ongoing generosity fuels the advocacy, education, and connections that keep WIC thriving. Together, we can turn gratitude into action and make the next 40 years of WIC even stronger than the first
