About the Conference


The NWA Biennial Nutrition Education and Breastfeeding Conference will be held at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Denver, CO from September 8 - 10, 2016.


This conference is the most popular gathering of the WIC nutrition and breastfeeding professionals in the US, attracting more than 1,200 attendees from USDA, state and local WIC agencies, and vendors who provide services to the WIC community.

Education sessions will cover current and emerging nutrition and breastfeeding science, research, policy and best practices. Poster Sessions and special forums will offer additional learning and networking opportunities.

More than 40 exhibitors will be on hand to provide the latest on WIC-related products, technology and services.

All payments are due before or on the first day of the Conference. Payments must be received to gain access to and participate in Conference activities and sessions. No PO will be accepted on-site.


Cancellation & Refund Policy

It is the policy of NWA's to access a processing fee for all cancelled registrations. To cancel your registration, a written request MUST be received by NWA via e-mail to NLucero@nwica.org or fax to 1-202-387-5281 no later than close of business on July 31, 2016.

Cancellations received before or on July 31, 2016 will be refunded, less a $75 processng fee. No refund will be granted for cancellations received after July 31, 2016. NWA regrets that refunds will not be granted for "No-shows."


Online Registration

Online registrations are processed via our web-based system. Each registrants must have or create a profile (account) in order to register online.

Registrants using a Purchase Order (PO) or check, must select the "Bill Me" option from the online registration system when registering. Credit card paments will be processed via our secured Stripe site. The system will automatically e-mail a registration confirmation to the e-mail provided. If you do not received a confirmation, please call our office.

Hotel and Transportation

HOST HOTEL SOLD OUT


NWA regrets to inform you that our room block at the host hotel (The Sheraton Denver) has been SOLD OUT. We have requested an increase for our current room block, but the hotel is unable to add any more rooms at this time.

After reaching out to several hotels within the down town area, negotiating room rates and room blocks, we were finally able to secure small room blocks at the current Federal Per Diem rate of $172.00. You may now contact these hotels using the information listed below to make your room reservations. We encourage you to call and make your room reservations now since once these block of rooms are sold out, NWA has no other option of securing other alternate hotels at the current Federal Per Diem Rate. Alternatively, if you are unable to secure a reservation at one of these hotels, please utilize all other methods available to you - including hotels.com - in making hotel room reservations. NWA apologizes for any inconvenience you may have had in securing housing for this conference.

For Homewood Suites, dial 303-534-7800. Be sure to provide group code NWA in order to get the negotiated room rate. NOTE that the official Cut-Off date is 8/17/16. However, this Cut-Off date is not guaranteed in that the room block may be sold out before then.

Airport/Transportation

The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel is an approximate 25-minute ride away from DEN International Airport, depending on traffic. Parking is available at the hotel for registered guests. Guests parking rates are as follows:

Self Parking = $23 overnight
Valet parking = $32 overnight
