Provides highly complex consultative services and technical assistance work on clinical nutrition services to Texas WIC staff. Work involves program planning, development, training, and implementation of formula policies and procedures for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Functions as an expert content consultant on formulas and medical nutritional products. Develops and provides training to WIC staff and health professionals on a variety of topics: including clinical pediatric nutrition, appropriate use of specialty/ therapeutic formulas, WIC policies and procedures, and general infant feeding. May assign and/or supervise the work of others as part of team functions. Work is performed under the supervision of the Infant Feeding Branch Manager with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
