Health Program Specialists plan, develop, implement and evaluate health services and activities; develop goals, objectives, program requirements and procedures; provide technical information regarding specialized health related conditions; and participate and provide support to various committees, advisory boards and other work groups.
This is a Health Program Specialist II position within the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program Section of the Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness, Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) located in Carson City, Nevada. The purpose of this position is to oversee and coordinate activities of local WIC agencies/clinics to ensure compliance of federal regulations. This position serves as the WIC Nutrition Coordinator and oversees WIC Nutrition Education. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing the nutrition services of the WIC State Plan, providing technical assistance to WIC partners and supervision of WIC administrative staff.
