Nutrition Educators provide nutrition services to participants enrolled in the La Crosse Women,
Infants and Children (WIC) Program and/or other contracted service areas.
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, which is a hybrid of in-person
and remote work. The salary range starts at $48,087.

La Crosse County Respects Diversity
Selects, develops, evaluates and updates nutrition education materials used by the La Crosse
County WIC Project.
Assesses nutritional status of WIC participants, provides counseling and follow up, prescribes
appropriate WIC food package, makes appropriate referrals, participates in staff meetings, makes
home visits in selected cases, and documents care in electronic records.
Provides high-risk and follow-up nutrition care related to pregnancy and child nutrition.
Provides individual prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding and infant feeding information to
pregnant and post-partum women enrolled in the La Crosse County WIC Program.
Provides promotion, support and education for breastfeeding as the normal and ideal method for
feeding infants.
Provides nutrition-related consultation to nurses, physicians and other health professionals
including La Crosse County Health Department staff.
Preference for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who is registered with the
Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or who, within 6 months of hire, passes the
CDR examination.
Other nutritionists who have a bachelor’s degree in dietetics or food and nutrition, or
master’s degree in nutrition will be considered.
One year of professional nutrition educator or RDN experience, preferred.
Valid Wisconsin driver's license and access to vehicle, or other reliable means of
transportation for city and rural travel.
