PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITIONIST SUPERVISOR – 64002566

The incumbent requires a current/active license, in good standing, as a Dietitian or Nutritionist in the State of Florida. The Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance, and direction. Meets with staff regularity to discuss performance. Maintains vacation and work schedules to ensure proper coverage and completes timesheets. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates professional and support personnel. Performs duties to ensure that the WIC clinic runs smoothly, and policies and procedures are followed. Performs nutritional assessments, nutrition education, and counseling to prenatal, postpartum, breastfeeding women, infants and children from birth to five years of age with accurate documentation in electronic medical record. Performs anthropometrics (heights and weights) and hematological testing as needed. Participates in outreach to the community to build WIC participation. Must be willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours in the event of an emergency. This includes emergency duties including, but not limited to, response to threats involving any disaster, man-made or natural.
