WIC Program Supervisor

Winnebago County WIC Program (Rockford, IL)

The WIC Supervisor promotes and supports population health in Winnebago County by providing oversight of the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program) Program including integration of the community health priorities and quality assurance/quality improvement activities for    the program, and management of personnel in support of the WIC program. This position also serves as the interim Director for Health Promotion and Wellness during absences of the Center Director. Activities include, but are not limited to, systematic analysis of health data, care/health improvement plan development, health education, advocacy, coalition building, and collaborating with community partners to promote the health the individual and the population in the area of nutrition. This Supervisor often collaborates and consults within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams in order to address the social determinants of health and achieve desirable outcomes for families and communities. Services are provided routinely during normal business hours and on weekends and evenings as needed. This position requires at least (3) years’ experience as Nutritionist in the WIC program and Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics but Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist preferred.
