This Friday, June 25th at 11 am ET, the House Agriculture Appropriations Agriculture, Rural Development, Food, and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Subcommittee will be holding a mark-up hearing on President Biden's fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills. His proposal includes an extension to the increased Cash Value Benefit (CVB) for WIC families through September 2022, but it won't happen unless Congress approves the new funding.
NWA's Communication team has prepared a toolkit and sample social media copy for the hearing for partner organizations, WIC agencies, and clinics to post on their social media channels about the importance of this extension. In addition, the Committee hearing will be accessible via the House Appropriation Committee's website. We look forward to the hearing and a great discussion on the need to extend WIC's veggies and fruits to benefit millions of families!
