The National WIC Association (NWA), located in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time state public policy associate to join its team of dedicated professionals.
The Association represents more than 12,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to over 7 million at-risk women and young children enrolled in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
The incumbent will help lead the Association’s advocacy and nutrition-related public policy activities. Responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and three years of field experience in public policy related to health, public health, or nutrition. A Master’s degree with major study in nutrition, health education, maternal and child health, public health, public administration or closely allied field may substitute for two years of work experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills required and Spanish language skills a plus.
