This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by advancing the health and well-being of California’s diverse people and communities. As an employee of the Business Support Section, the incumbent serves as part of a team that provides technical contract oversight and assistance to local agencies and facility oversight and maintenance of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program to ensure a legally operable, fiscally sound, and financially credible statewide organization.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Chief, Business Support Section, Staff Services Manager II (SSM II). The Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) plans, organizes, and guides the work of the staff assigned to the Facilities and Business Support Unit (FBSU) and manages the day-to-day operations of the FBSU. Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to analytical and support staff in providing facilities and business services procurement administration and technical assistance to the WIC Division and staff. Guides staff to ensure that the WIC Division is in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and guidelines with respect to business services and procurements. Coordinates with all other units of the WIC Division in conducting these activities. The manager actively participates as a member of the WIC Division management team.
