The Staff Services Manager (SSM) II works under the general direction of the Chief, Local Services Branch, SSM III. The SSM II plans, organizes, directs, and supervises the work of a multidisciplinary professional and technical staff in the Local Support Section which consists of an SSM I who manages the Contracts and Monitoring Services Unit and a group of staff that report directly to the SSM II. The Local Support Section ensures that the contract management and compliance activities, technical assistance services, and communication provided to 84 WIC local agency contractors is delivered in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Local Support Section also ensures that these activities are conducted in collaboration with partners throughout the WIC Division and delivered to WIC local agency contractors in a manner that supports their successful service to California families.
