WIC Program Manager

The Program Manager position plans, directs, and coordinates work of employees within assigned programs at the Pueblo Department of Public Health & Environment. Supervises employees in the completion of program activities and adherence to Department policies. Provides leadership or team-based efforts to effectively develop and improve work systems and processes. Supports implementation of department mission and goals through the strategic plan, quality improvement, performance management, and workforce development.  This position provides oversight for the Office of Community Health Services, programs such as the Special Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children covering 5 counties, and the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program covering 29 counties.  Provides leadership and expertise to WIC and peer counselor staff in accomplishing program goals and activities.  Fosters and maintains working relationships with external agencies in order to assist, support, and achieve program goals.  Provides support to staff in the completion of WIC and Peer Program duties that align with state policies and procedures.
