Senior Conference and Events Associate

The National WIC Association (NWA), located in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Senior Conference and Events Associate to join its diverse team of eighteen dedicated professionals. NWA is a high-impact non-profit, member organization that represents more than 2,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to women and young children in over 10,000 WIC clinics nationwide.  

The Senior Conference and Events Associate will provide administrative and project management support to the Director of Conferences and Events. Duties include events-related planning, management, and delivery of successful engagement.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and enjoy managing multiple administrative projects, coordinating meetings and conference sessions, and providing real-time support to NWA conference and event attendees.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Acting as the official registrar for all NWA conference; ensuring the event registration runs smoothly and that payments are received before events begin.

  • Monitoring and responding to all inquiries regarding Conference and Events including emails, phone calls, and voicemails.

  • Managing NWA webinar program logistics to include identifying speakers, sending confirmations, updating the NWA website and webinar platform, managing the webinars, and maintaining a master list of  the program.

  • Supporting the Conference and Events Director by assisting with conference planning and logistics for all virtual conferences. This includes populating the virtual conference website with content such as presentations and promotional material, real-time troubleshooting for speakers and attendees, providing technical assistance and moderating virtual conference sessions.

  • Supporting the management of the conference abstract process for NWA conferences, which includes providing guidance and technical assistance on the abstract submission process and monitoring the number of abstracts submitted to  reach abstract submission goals.

  • Working with the Communications Team on the marketing of Webinars and all Conferences, providing updates to the Communications Team to market on social media or providing specific membership updates, conference and webinar logistics to include in promotional materials.

  • Assisting with the management of the NWA Conference Committees including communications coordination and meeting minutes recording and distribution.


  • Minimum of 3 to 5-years in Non-Profit administrative/project coordination work.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 4 times per year to NWA conferences and events.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range

$65K - $80K
