Senior Membership and Events Associate

National WIC Association (DC, Maryland, Virginia area (within 2 hours of the NWA office) )

The National WIC Association (NWA), the nonprofit education arm and advocacy voice of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), has an immediate opening for a Senior Membership and Events Associate.

The Association is a high-impact non-profit, member organization that represents more than 2,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to at-risk women and young children in over 10,000 WIC clinics nationwide.  

The Senior Membership and Events Associate will support membership services and events management at the National WIC Association. Duties include membership and events-related coordination, administrative tasks and project support to fulfill NWA’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholders, be highly organized and able to multitask.
Specifically, the Senior Membership and Events Associate will:
-Support the Senior Manager of Conference and Events with conference planning and logistics for all in-person and virtual conferences and events. 


-Support the Member Services team with administrative and logistical work related to the new member online community, webinars, membership renewals, committee and task force management, and other membership-related projects.


To qualify, the applicant will have:                                                                                                     

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years’ work experience and interest in meeting planning and member services.
  • Experience in the logistical management of large meetings, concurrent functions, networking events, and other events for executive-level groups a plus.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities, work well under pressure, and adapt quickly to shifting duties and responsibilities. 
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent writing and proofreading/editing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and follow up with final details, as well as a commitment to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to produce a high-quality product and successful outcome.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and database management preferred; 
  • Able and willing to travel within North America, approximately 15-20 days per year for conferences;

Salary range: $67,000 - $73,000

NWA full-time staff must be based in the DC metro area, which includes Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We currently have a hybrid work environment with the expectation of one work day per week in the physical office at 1099 14th Street, NW Washington, DC. Staff have the option to work remotely for the remainder of the work week.
