About WIC Voices

NWA WIC Voices Summit

Date: September 9-10, 2024

Discover the power of voices at the WIC Voices Summit, where leaders, experts, and advocates converge to amplify WIC voices in advocacy and education. This dynamic event features a series of interactive workshops led by experts, focusing on crucial topics such as WIC funding and the updated WIC Food Packages. This Summit is strategically timed to ensure WIC voices are heard before the Congressional funding deadline of September 30.

This is not a lobbying event. The Summit workshops will help construct messaging for NWA members as raising awareness and educating congressional offices on WIC.

This event is open to current state or local WIC staff only.

Highlights Include:

  • Workshops by Experts: Engage with policy experts and leaders in workshops designed to enhance advocacy skills, foster leadership abilities, and promote effective community organizing.

  • Capitol Hill Education Day: Participate in a unique opportunity to visit Capitol Hill, connect directly with policymakers and congressional staff to educate them on critical issues affecting WIC staff and WIC families.

  • Networking Opportunities: Build connections with others in the WIC community, organizations, and policymakers dedicated to advancing WIC policy.

Whether you are a seasoned advocate or a passionate community member, the WIC Voices Summit offers valuable insights, skills, and networking opportunities to empower your journey in advocating for WIC.
